Those following the 1000-lb Sisters for a while now notice that Amy and Tammy Slaton forehead differ. While both Tammy Slaton and her sister Amy Slaton struggle with obesity, Tammy has always had a bulge in her forehead that often fluctuates, while Amy never had one.
Many people have asked why Tammy’s forehead has such an unusual look. She doesn’t seem to be talking about it. Tammy’s lump on her forehead isn’t new, but it often changes in size, which has led to many people asking questions about what could be causing it.
Tammy’s childhood photos also show a similar bulge in her forehead as a teenager. Tammy’s doctor told her that it had something to do with frequent weight gain. When Tammy went to the doctor and asked about her lump, she discovered it was a fat pocket.
The doctor told her that as she loses weight and then gains some back, the lump will fluctuate in size. So far, that seems to be true. Amy explained in the early episodes that her sister had a lot of fat on her body it came out of her forehead. When they both went to the doctor, they discovered that Tammy’s body had run out of places where it could store fat. So now the body keeps it on her forehead. In the third season, Tammy’s forehead still has an evident lump. But many viewers have gotten used to it.
Tammy’s weight has caused the fat deposit in her forehead and subsequent lump and other ailments. Tammy has been hooked up to oxygen and often refuses to walk because it puts so much strain on her body. Despite being obese, Tammy has had to deal with many health issues. She once experienced a blood clot in her lungs, which later led to pneumonia. Despite her occasional attempts to lose weight, it is clear that the health issues are ongoing.
