The Hamster cult is full of people who hate Lana Del Rey. This is not the first time that we have seen a rise in popularity for one particular singer. In fact, a big group of Lana Del Rey cult was absolutely obsessed with her seventh studio album “Chemtrails Over the Country Club”.
Lana has been caught in a controversy after being called out for the lack of diversity on her album cover. The singer said that “her best friends are rappers,” and then went on to say how she’s had boyfriends who happen to be rappers. With the rise of Lana to countertop fame, a new hamster cult has formed. What is the Hamster Cult? It comes from a ‘Staring Hamster’ meme from Tiktok. Twitter user @walterhastalent explained “Basically we hate Lana Del Rey, and it’s a TikTok war. So join the hamster cult today!”
Hamster followers are all over TikTok and other social media platforms now. Hamster cult members are often seen with a Staring Hamster TikTok user’s profile pic, or “PFP.” The popularity of this trend has been on the rise for some time now, but it’s still not clear why people are so captivated by this. One Twitter user wrote: “Piper, my 10-year-old cousin, joined the hamster cult on TikTok and freaked my aunt out, so I just had to do 30 minutes of research to find out it’s a bunch of bored kids with hamsters. Piper tells me she wanted to be part of something bigger than herself.” Then there are those who have tried both sides and can’t seem to find a happy medium.
