There are all sorts of candy conspiracies out there. One that has been making headlines recently is the debate between left Twix and right Twix, what’s the difference between left and right Twix?
For years, the theory that left and right Twix bars look and taste different was making rounds on social media. The chocolate bar that has been loved for generations, Twix went through a bit of a revamp in 2012. For the last nine years, a special campaign has been running in which some packaging of Twix are labeled Left and right packs.
While it seems silly to be talking about which side of the chocolate is better, many people find this an interesting topic. If you’re around someone and they start a conversation off by asking “Do you consider yourself a left Twix or right Twix kind of person?” Please keep them around forever.
There are many individuals who do not care about the campaign and couldn’t even tell difference between the left and right bars. Is there really a difference between the two?
The concept of there being a difference intrigued us, so we did some research. Recipe Maker says that in the right Twix factory, caramel flows on top of a cookie while it cascades onto the cookies on left. There’s an obvious difference between how they are processed and this can be seen by looking at their coating process. “The distinction [between the two] can be found on the label, as the right Twix is cloaked in chocolate with cascaded caramel, and the left side is enrobed in chocolate with drizzled caramel.”
For the last nine years, this debate has been going on. Team Left Twix or Right Twix?
“I know it’s a dumb marketing scheme, and they are the same… but if you eat right Twix, you are wrong. #TeamLeftTwix,” One user on Twitter wrote. “I don’t mean to get too political on here, but I have to say it — I’m #TeamRightTwix, and I always have been,” As for #TeamRightTwix, one Twitter user shared.
How about you? are you a Team Left Twix or Team Right Twix?
