Reality TV stars are no exception to the rule that you can’t pick your family. Throughout the years, we’ve seen celebrity families document their ups and downs on shows like Family Therapy With Dr. Jenn or Keeping up With The Kardashians and while they may have differences from one another it’s always great seeing them come together in some way during these programs.
But not all celebrity heirs have a happy ending. Just as GUHH star Briana Latrise Kamara has an interesting story about her parents. Briana Latrise is the daughter of record executive Kendu Issacs, but her mother has chosen to remain anonymous. They welcomed Briana when they were only teenagers and their relationship ended shortly after that. When Briana was only 5 years old, Kendu married Maurine. They had two children together before divorcing eight years later.
When Briana was just 12, her mother kicked her out. Of course, this didn’t go over very well. It was around this time that Briana began acting out and using drugs.
“Until this day, we just don’t see eye-to-eye on things. We just learned to tolerate each other’s opinions and standpoints, by respecting one another. Back then, it was like two kids arguing with one another,” Briana said. “I’m so different from my mother that it irritates her, but in many ways that we are the same. We irritate each other.”
Briana opened up about her relationship with her father, “I look and move the same as him, but our thought process is the complete opposite,” she said.
Briana documented her relationship with her now-estranged father through social media in 2018. She revealed that her father had been absent her entire life. “Legit only have three pictures of us together. … I honestly made every excuse for you. Every single one. … But the reality is …you’re garbage,” She wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
Briana admitted that she had loved her dad in spite of the fact that her love was unrequited. She added, “Raven told me to stop fucking with you my mom said it too just about every friend I ever had… Because dealing with you in any capacity leaves be broken. She continued, “I literally do not have the support of a family and at this point. I wouldn’t want it anyway cause I don’t trust you, people. [N-word]s in the street always treated me better. I got left in the woods with the wolves but I didn’t f–king die so expected some PTSD and some feral tendencies.”
During the time that Kendu Issacs was in the midst of a messy divorce with his ex-wife, Mary J. Blige, Briana wrote a message saying that her father valued other women over the relationship he had with her.
The divorce proceedings have revealed that Kendu Issacs had spent $420,000 on his mistress. What is he worth now? It was reported that Kendu Issacs’ net worth was nearly $4.5 million ss of October of 2020.
