Eoin (pronounced Owen) Macken will be gracing us with his presence on the NBC show La Brea, which has been gaining popularity recently. Eoin is best known for ads from Abercrombie & Fitch in the early 2000s that you might have seen if so. He started out as a model but quickly made the transition to film and television. He’s pretty private about his personal life so we don’t know if he has kids or if he is married.
Eoin is currently based in Australia and appears to be single. He has not revealed much about his personal life, telling Virgin Media’s Elaine that he hadn’t had any conversation on the topic until now. For now, though Eoin seems content just maintaining relationships at home while traveling back to Ireland as much as possible for visits.
“It is harder to maintain a relationship when you’re traveling and moving around, especially if you’re involved in music or film, that definitely makes things a lot more difficult, to be frank,” Eoin said.
But that wasn’t always the case. Eoin dated ‘Saturdays’ singer Una Healy, but they ended their relationship just after two years. He dated actress Kellie Blaise for a short period of time from 2010 to 2011, and then for several more years, he kept his love life a secret.
While filming the short Crossmaglen, Eoin met actress Anya Taylor-Joy of The Queen’s Gambit fame. They were seen publicly looking very cozy on more than one occasion and rumors of their engagement started to spread after a ring suddenly appeared on her left hand at BFI London Film Festival back in October 2017.
In March, Anya told Vanity Fair that before filming Emma in 2019 she went through a very painful breakup. She said it had challenged everything and was extremely insecure on top of being unsafe for herself.
Recently last May, she was seen canoodling with musician Malcolm McRae in New York City. It’s safe to say that if they were dating then Eoin is not her beau.
Eoin is best known for his roles in popular TV shows like The Night Shift and Merlin. He currently stars on NBC’s La Brea, which premieres on September 28 at 9 pm EST.
