For those who use Snapchat daily, the Snapstreak is very important. You must make sure that you and your friend have Snapped at least once every 24 hours for a flame emoji to appear next to their name. You’ll be able to tell how long your snapping streak has been going on by the number next to that emoji.
Snapstreaks are supposed to be a reflection of how much we care about our friendships, so it’s unfortunate when they get lost. Fortunately though—if you’ve ever had the worst luck and your Snap streak disappeared without warning-it might possibly come back.
This friend of mine called me after 4 years just to say don’t break the snapstreak.

So, this is sort of disappointing news. If you’ve lost your Snapchat streak because either yourself or a friend has been away from the app for more than 24 hours- there’s not much we can do to help get it back. Don’t forget that chats don’t count toward your Snapstreak legacy! Make sure you’re sending actual Snaps and not just chatting.
Sending Snaps to a group is great for keeping in touch, but it won’t count towards your streak if you send them individually. We don’t know why this rule exists either. It’s easy to work within these guidelines! Just make sure you send actual Snaps. Every day for the rest of your life or however long you want it, and have a friend do so as well too.
When you stop talking to someone, but then realize you’re about to lose your Snapstreak.
We’re talking again. 🙃

Snapchat gives you a heads-up if your Snapstreak is in danger. The hourglass emoji next to your friend’s name means that you’re running low on Snapstreak. It might not seem like it, but sending them a quick message or asking for one will do wonders and save the day.
No one wants to start over from day one, but if you’ve lost your Snapstreak because of either forgetting or not sending a snap in time then there is no going back. On the bright side, though it doesn’t really matter as far as the Snapchat experience goes. We totally understand how important this feature might be for some people too so.

What if your streak disappears because of some kind of technical glitch? According to the Snapchat Support page, you can contact them and let them know that there’s been an error. They will investigate the error in order to restore it (maybe!). It might be worth keeping going for now though.
Hi! Unfortunately, we’re unable to take further action regarding your Snapstreak request after you’ve received a response.

I hope Snapchat decides to give you a second chance because your friendship is too important and so are the memories created on this app. Rest assured that even if it doesn’t work out as planned for now – there will always be more goals with which to take up where we left off!
